Operations Manager
Full-Time
Location: Hybrid (U.S.-based). This role will require occasional travel.
The Operations Manager serves as the operational backbone of Global Works Trust, responsible for overseeing and coordinating day-to-day organizational functions to ensure efficiency, accountability, and alignment with mission and strategic goals. This role leads cross-functional operations, supports program execution, and ensures that internal systems, processes, and teams operate cohesively. The Operations Manager will work closely with leadership, including Programs, Development, and Finance, to translate strategy into execution and maintain a high standard of organizational performance. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and operational execution in a dynamic, growing nonprofit environment.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Operations & Coordination
Oversee and coordinate daily operations across program, administrative, and support functions.
Establish and maintain efficient workflows, systems, and operational processes.
Ensure alignment between organizational strategy and day-to-day execution.
Maintain operational calendars, planning cycles, and coordination structures across teams.
Identify operational gaps and implement solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Program & Logistics Support
Support operational execution of programs across domestic and international initiatives.
Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and resource allocation for program delivery.
Ensure program operations align with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
Collaborate with Program leadership to streamline systems and processes.
Team Leadership & Volunteer Management
Supervise staff, volunteers, and operational support personnel.
Recruit, train, and support volunteers in a mission-aligned environment.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented team culture.
Conduct staff check-ins, evaluations, and support professional development.
Systems, Inventory & Resource Management
Develop and maintain systems for inventory, donations, and resource distribution (as applicable to programming).
Oversee tracking and management of organizational assets and supplies.
Ensure operational systems are scalable and aligned with growth objectives.
Data Tracking & Performance Monitoring
Track, analyze, and report on operational data and program performance metrics.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for operational activities.
Develop dashboards or reporting systems to provide visibility into operational performance.
Support leadership with insights to inform decision-making.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Support implementation of internal controls and operational procedures.
Maintain documentation for audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and mitigate operational risks proactively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a liaison across departments to ensure alignment and communication.
Support Executive Director and leadership team with operational planning and execution.
Participate in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
Coordinate cross-functional projects and ensure follow-through on key priorities.
Community Representation & Engagement
Represent Global Works Trust in community partnerships, local engagements, and events as needed.
Build relationships with local organizations, partners, and stakeholders.
Support operational coordination for events, outreach initiatives, and program activities.
Additional Responsibilities
Staying updated on youth participant’’ progress and performace by reviewing grades, attendance, behavior, involvement, etc.
Support special projects, organizational initiatives, and new program launches.
Assist with administrative functions as needed to support organizational growth.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, counseling, social work, or related field required (Master’s strongly preferred)
3+ years of experience in operations management, nonprofit leadership, logistics, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing teams or volunteers.
Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to and alignment with the Christian mission and values of Global Works Trust.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods as needed.
Preferred Experience
Experience working in nonprofit or faith-based organizations.
Experience supporting program operations or community-based initiatives.
Familiarity with inventory systems, logistics coordination, or donation management.
Experience working in cross-functional or growing organizations.
Demonstrated ability to create structure in dynamic or evolving environments.
