Program Manager - Youth & Community Programs

Full-Time
Location: Hybrid (U.S.-based). May require travel.

The Program Manager – Youth & Community Programs is responsible for overseeing the administrative, operational, and programmatic development of Global Works Trust’s youth and community-based initiatives. This role will manage program execution across domestic and international sites, support the development of strategic partnerships, and ensure high-quality program delivery aligned with the organization’s mission and growth objectives. The Program Manager will work closely with the Director of Programs, as well as cross-functional leaders including Development and Marketing, to ensure programs are effectively implemented, evaluated, and scaled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Operations & Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of youth and community programs across program sites.

  • Ensure programs are delivered in alignment with organizational strategy, timelines, and budget.

  • Manage program schedules, logistics, and implementation plans for afterschool, seasonal, and international initiatives.

  • Monitor program performance and ensure consistency and quality across all locations.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Supervise program staff, site coordinators, and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of program staff.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and support.

  • Maintain adequate staffing levels to meet program needs.

Program Development & Curriculum Support

  • Collaborate with leadership to design and implement program curricula aligned with the organization’s mission and four-pillar framework.

  • Support development of youth enrichment programming, leadership development, and life-skills training initiatives.

  • Ensure programming reflects cultural relevance and community needs across domestic and international settings.

Partnerships & Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community organizations, local leaders, and partner institutions.

  • Identify and cultivate new partnerships to expand program reach and impact.

  • Represent Global Works Trust in community meetings, program sites, and stakeholder engagements.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Data Management

  • Ensure accurate use of participant tracking systems and data collection tools.

  • Monitor program outcomes and support evaluation processes.

  • Collaborate with Data & Impact teams to measure program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Support reporting for internal leadership, donors, and grant requirements.

Compliance & Program Quality

  • Ensure programs comply with local, state, and international regulations as applicable.

  • Maintain adherence to organizational policies and operational standards.

  • Support implementation of quality assurance practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Organizational Alignment

  • Work closely with Development and Marketing teams to support program storytelling, donor engagement, and fundraising efforts.

  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration efforts.

  • Contribute to organizational strategy and program expansion planning.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support special projects, pilot programs, and new initiative launches.

  • Assist in coordinating events, trainings, and program-related activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.

  • 4–6+ years of experience working in youth programs, community development, or nonprofit program management.

  • 3+ years of experience supervising staff and managing program operations.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments, particularly in Africa.

  • Experience in faith-based or mission-driven organizations.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems.

  • Experience with program data tracking systems and reporting tools.

  • Background in curriculum development or youth leadership programming.
