Cycles of Care Initiative
By meeting families in spaces they already use, we remove barriers and create opportunities for connection, education, and support.
Cycles of Care is a community-based initiative by Global Works Trust that delivers mental health support and essential services to underserved families in a way that is accessible and impactful.
Through partnerships with local laundromats, we provide free laundry services to low-income and displaced families. While families wait for their laundry, we create a welcoming environment where they can engage in informal conversations, workshops, and guided discussions focused on youth mental health and family well-being.
A New Approach to Mental Health Access
Many families face barriers to accessing mental health support, including:
Cost and lack of insurance
Transportation challenges
Time constraints
Stigma around seeking help
Cycles of Care removes these barriers by embedding support into everyday environments, creating a low-pressure, judgment-free space where families can learn, ask questions, and connect with trusted professionals.
-
Our model is simple, and intentional:
1. Arrival & Welcome
Families are greeted with care and introduced to a supportive, welcoming environment.2. Sponsored Laundry Support
Each family receives up to three loads of laundry, relieving immediate financial stress.3. Mental Health Engagement
While laundry is in progress, licensed professionals lead informal workshops and conversations focused on youth mental health and family support.4. Closing & Continued Support
Participants receive resources, referrals, and encouragement for continued growth and connection. -
Cycles of Care is powered through collaboration with:
Local laundromats
Licensed therapists and counselors
Community organizations and advocates
Together, we create a network of support that extends beyond a single interaction.
-
Cycles of Care creates both immediate and long-term impact by:
Reducing financial stress for families
Increasing awareness of youth mental health
Providing practical tools for parents and caregivers
Connecting families to ongoing resources and support
This approach helps build healthier families and stronger communities, one interaction at a time.
